Who Are Caregivers?
Caregivers are self-employed individuals who possess the necessary skills and resources to provide care and a secure environment for people with varying medical, physical, or mental challenges. These caregivers can either be family members or unrelated individuals. Additionally, caregivers have the opportunity to utilize extra living spaces within their homes or apartments to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. As compensation for their efforts, caregivers are eligible to receive tax-free stipends at competitive rates. Furthermore, caregivers also benefit from Alternate Care Services (Respite), which allows them to take time off for an evening or a vacation.
Caregivers Must:
- Caregivers must be at least 18 years old and free from any physical or mental impairments that could interfere with their ability to provide Adult Foster Care services.
- They must be capable of providing a physician’s clearance, confirming their fitness to perform the caregiver role’s requirements.
